Welcome to JEMS Power. I am Mike van den Heuvel, a hands-on hardware engineer with over 19 years of experience in designing complex power electronics.

As an independent consultant, I support R&D departments and tech companies in solving challenging power conversion issues. My focus is on practically realizing efficient hardware, from initial topology selection to working prototypes.

  • System Architecture & Topology Selection: Selecting, simulating, and calculating the most optimal converter or inverter topologies (such as PFC and DC/DC) from scratch.
  • Magnetics Design: Practically designing, calculating, and specifying custom inductors and transformers.
  • Hardware Design & Prototyping: Translating specifications into concrete schematics, selecting the right components, and executing or guiding PCB design.
